Our Story
Leatherman Real Estate Services was founded by Frank D. Leatherman, Jr, MAI, CCIM, and established in 1991. LRES is a full service commercial real estate function providing appraisal services, brokerage, leasing, property management, and consulting.
Frank Leatherman is a native of Raleigh and a graduate of the University of NC at Chapel Hill. He is a Certified General Real Estate Appraiser, a licensed NC Real Estate Broker, a member of the Appraisal Institute and a CCIM. Having an extensive background in the banking and real estate genres, Mr. Leatherman has appraised a variety of commercial properties including office buildings, shopping centers, subdivisions, apartments, restaurants, industrial properties, vacant land, historic properties, mixed-use developments, golf courses, cotton gins, waste treatment facilities, landfills, municipal and institutional properties.
Mr. Leatherman has extensive experience in eminent domain issues providing expert testimony for municipalities and property owners. Mr. Leatherman's client relationships include some of the nation's major financial institutions and development companies, attorneys, municipalities, public and private corporations as well as individual property owners.
Carolyn B. Terry, Managing Partner, Certified General Real Estate Appraiser, and Broker has been with Leatherman Real Estate Services since its inception in 1991. Ms. Terry manages the daily administrative and financial functions of LRES as well as providing appraisal, commercial/residential brokerage services and consulting. A native of Charlotte where she started her real estate career, she has an extensive background in leasing, property management and development of residential and commercial properties. Prior to her real estate experience, Ms. Terry worked in Sales and Human Resources.
